Hi, I'm Lisa, the heart behind Persistently Present.

I've always loved crafts, hobbies, and creative projects, and I tend to jump right into whatever catches my curiosity next. Over the years, after sharing something I made, I've heard "I could never do that" more times than I can count. But the truth is, you absolutely can. Making something meaningful is not as intimidating as it seems. It just takes a little guidance, some encouragement, and clear instructions.

That's where my background comes in.

Before founding Persistently Present, I spent years in education as a middle and high school math teacher, a university professor, a Director of a STEM Institute, and a curriculum developer. I hold a PhD in Mathematics Education. I've spent my career thinking about how people learn, what makes an experience stick, and how to design something that's both rigorous and joyful.

Through Persistently Present, I bring all of that into the community through craft workshops, private parties, DIY kits, and now Make Space, a STEAM enrichment program for kids in grades 2 through 8.

Crafting isn't about perfection. It's about the process, the people you're with, and the memories you make along the way.

Happy crafting, Lisa
